Aaliyah
Aaliyah: Forever "The Princess of R&B. Singer/Songwriter/Actress who covered The Isley Brothers song (At Your Best) You Are Love and scored big with the release of that song and many more hits. Sadly Aaliyah left us much too soon as she died in an airplane crash.
Aretha Franklin
Aretha Franklin: The "Queen of Soul". Singer/songwriter and musician. Wrote the women's anthem "R-E-S-P-E-C-T. She played a major role in the Civil Rights movement by not only lending her voice, but her celebrity as well.
Biggie
Biggie a.k.a. "Notorious B.I.G. one of the most lyrically prolific rappers of his time with hits like "Hypnotize, "Big Poppa" and "Juicy. He talked about the streets and what it could do to you. And the streets did just that! Biggie's life was cut short when he was killed on the streets in Los Angeles.
David Bowie
David Bowie: Rock Icon, Fashion Icon. He wrote the smash hit "FAME" along with John Lennon. A small look into what it meant to be famous and all that comes with it.
EAZY E
"The Godfather of Gansta Rap" Eric Wright grew up in Compon, CA. where gang banging was all throughout the "Hub City". Eazy along with Dr. Dre put together a group and called them N.W.A. "Niggas With Attitudes". And Eazy also started the first Gansta Rap label Ruthless Records which made Eazy very wealthy. The group exploded on the scene with songs like "Straight Outta Compton and "Express Yourself" a cover by "The Watts 103rd Street Band" but then they released their controversial single "Fuck The Police" that spread across the country and surprisingly made them a household name, but also made the President of the Unitd States call them a threat to society and national security. Eazy later on succumbed to AIDS due to a blood transfusion is what is said. Others say that he was murdered.
Greg Allman
Lead singer with the famous "southern rock" group "The Allman Brothers Band. I'm from the south so I'm a little partial to southern rock. The Allman Brothers sang about their life, love and their struggles with hits like 'Ramblin Man", "Midnight Rider" as well as "Melissa.".
10. Mac Miller: Pittsburgh rapper that burst on the scene with hits like "The Spins", "Good News" and "Self Care". Mac had a strong influence with Jazz and used mostly Jazz loops and samples on most of his music. Mac died from a Fentanyl and cocaine overdose in his house. .

Kurt Cobain
Lead singer and writer for the rock group "Nirvana who started the "Grunge Movement". had mega hits like "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Come As You Are" and "Lithium". Kurt died from a heroin overdose.

The greatest balladeer of All-Time in my opinion! One of the greatest songwriters and composers of his time and even today. His songs "Mercy Mercy Me"(The Ecology) still rings true today with global warming, pollution and homelessness running rampant across the planet. Marvin also pinned hits like "Distant Lover, Trouble Man, Come Get To This and the erotic Sexual Healing".which was made right before he was tragicall murdered by his father in an arguement about the treatment of his mother.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Pastor, Nobel Prize Winner and Leader of "The Civil Rights Movement". He made public protests regarding the treatment of colored people during the 50's and 60's. He led the March on Washington D.C. and spoke to hundreds of millions of people regarding their lives, hopes and dreams in this country. He gave his monumental "I Have A Dream" speech that rocked the entire country.
Wiz Khalifa
Grew up in Pittsburgh started rapping and was eventually signed by Warner Brothers Records. Wiz had big hits like "Young, Wild and Free, "See You Again" and "Black and Yellow" Pittsburh Steelers fan song and I'm a Steelers Fan! Steeler Nation Baby!
Tupac Shakur
One of the world's most famous rappers and actor. He actually started the rapper turned actor scenario.Tupac grew up militant being the child of a "Black Panther Afeni Shakur. Tupac started with the Oakland based group "Digital Underground" and eventually found himself on Death Row Records where he pinned hits like "All Eyez On Me", "California Love", "Brenda's Got A Baby" and "Keep Ya Head Up". He and Biggie were once really good friends, but unfortunately he was influenced to think otherwise because when he visited Biggie in New York, he was robbed and shot outside the studio that Biggie was recording at that night. Eventually Tupac was murdered in Las Vegas after getting into a brawl with hoodlumat a casino.
